CASTING THE NET AROUND NEW MEDIA

I hereby announce that I am launching a new site called, EgoNetCast. [Editor's note: It will be under construction for some time. Right now you could read about the Aviator template on the Squarespace platform.] I will cover all things related to new media, especially podcasting (internet radio). I want to give kudos to Leo Laporte for coining the term netcast. Which name do you prefer, "portable on demand (broad)cast" or (inter)net (broad)cast?

A little background on my interest in radio and podcasting:

I have been a supporter of free radio for a long time, starting out in the late 80's, fighting the radio monopoly in Sweden. I listened to the Swedish Enterprise Association's music radio and how they broadcasted news from Voice of America in the middle of the night. I also tuned into the same wavelength as 208 Radio Luxembourg.

In 2004 I was interviewed by Radio Farda (Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty) about the situation in Iran.

I did my first podcast interview with Allen Forum in 2006 on the Solid Vox network.

I became a host on BlogTalkRadio in 2010 and my first show was an interview with John Cox.

I have a pro unlimited plan on Soundcloud.

I have compiled a list of the 100 Best Small Business Podcasts on Small Business Trends several times.

I have been called "Skavlan on the Net" by Tomas Gedda, Fundraising Manager, Fundraising Foundation for The Queen Silvia Children's Hospital when I did pro bono social media work for his organization. Stefan Engeseth of Detective Marketing is describing me as a "blogger and social media evangelist."

Maybe I can become the new "Maverick of Radio"? ;)

"The Question" quiptoon by John Cox.

The site will include stuff about:

What would you like to find on my new site?

As an ending (musical) note, here is Radio Ga Ga by Queen:

    BLOG TALK RADIO

I will continue to produce EGO podcasts on BlogTalkRadio on a regular basis. My goal is to publish a show once a week, but I have to start out with a show once a month and then every fortnight. It will take some time to build up a pool of potential guests and to schedule interviews with them. I have signed up for the premium package so I could grow my audience of listeners by getting 5,000 impressions per month as a part of BlogTalkRadio's featured show banner. I will also get in-depth analytics of show statistics that I could share with my guests and potential sponsors.

Listen to my thoughts on my new series of podcasts (May 4, 2010).
